Last weekend I woke up to a beautiful, albeit chilly fall Saturday morning and headed down to my old stomping ground : West Seattle. I was meeting up with the Messina family for portraits along the beach. One thing we didn’t quite think about was the possible wind chill right at the beach, and it was COLD! But all 4 generations of the family were there and happy to run around and get some pictures taken. From a 9 week old to his great grandma!
I don’t photograph huge family groups very often. Generally speaking it’s harder to get personalities to come out when there are so many people to corral, but this family was relaxed and happy to have a good time, while being told to think of Hawaii to try and look warm! They were a blast!

I love this shot below. The dad wanted to do a shot similar to the Abby Road Beatles cover. We decided to try to do it with just him and his daughters, but non of the girls knew what we were talking about… I think they did a pretty darn good job though!

And I have to leave with this shot, because I love a family with style… especially shoe style. Ladies… can I have all your shoes???? 🙂
