Sometimes date night (or date day) needs a little revving up. A little input from outside sources to do a little something outside the usual.
These are some of my favorite tasty date night restaurants in Seattle (or date day…. whatever strikes your fancy)
Serafina : I was introduced to Serafina last year when I photographed beautiful fall wedding there, and the atmosphere and food were amazing. It’s a little spot on Eastlake that makes you feel like you just transported to a little village in Italy when you walk in the door. The staff is super nice, the food is delicious and it makes for quite a night. Definitely worth checking out. They are a restaurant, so kids are welcome, but I would suggest an adult night out for this one!
Jerseys – Jersey’s is a sports bar in Shoreline on 175th just East of Aurora. While I am not super big into sports myself, it’s got a great atmosphere. Their are tvs with sports on them all through the bar area, but the sound isn’t on so you can ignore it if you want. The staff is super attentive and they make you feel super welcome …. like it’s just your neighborhood bar. While this is a more casual date night idea, it’s a favorite as their food is to die for. Their Kalbi Steak Sandwich is my favorite… but it is all good! A great neighborhood spot to hit up (especially as Shoreline is sorely missing out on good bars) and a cheap place to go for good food and Manny’s beer 🙂
Ballard Annex Oyster House – To be fair, I haven’t gone to Ballard Annex specifically for date night as my hubby isn’t super into Oysters, I’ve been there a handful of times for meetings and networking events, and I’ve always thought it would be a perfect date night spot. They are in Old Ballard so parking is a pain, but their delicious oysters make the parking hell worth it. If you and your partner love oysters. This is a place to seek out!
Skillet Street Kitchen – Ballard and Capitol Hill. I was introduced to Skillet via their street car and fell in love. Then I found out they have their actual restaurants too, and I got very excited. It’s a super popular place, so make sure to expect to wait, but their food is the most amazing comfort food. American food with a lot of attention to the flavor and experience. Make sure to not wear tight clothes if you go here though, as the meals are large, and you leave very very full. Amazing breakfasts too, if you like your date nights to actually be date days 🙂
Ravish on Eastlake. This restaurant has the folks of Ravishing Radish behind them. Ravishing Radish is one my favorite caterers in town, and knowing they have their own restaurant that you can get tasty treats without having to be at a special event is the best! They keep things local and sustainable, and their food speaks for itself.
Sushi Moto – Edmonds. My parents turned us on to this sushi spot. It’s on 99 in Edmonds basically across from Ranch 99. Our go to date night anything is sushi, so we find ourselves here often. It’s a small restaurant in a strip mall, but the fish is fresh and priced in a way you won’t go broke filling your belly. They have side rooms for larger parties which can make for a funner get together if you have a group you go with. We used to go into Lynnwood for our sushi spot, but Sushi Moto has proven to be a better meal for a better price and with great staff. If you love sushi and are in the North end, I’d definitely check it out!
