You Already  Have A personal brand.
The question is who’s defining it.
You, or the market.
Personal Branding Coach
Nobody explains what personal branding looks like for someone who runs a real business — not a full-time influencer with a ring light and a niche. Let’s figure out what it looks like for you.
Let’s set the record straight…
You already are a personal brand.
If you sell a product, you might be a traditional brand — Starbucks, Adobe, Nike. The product is the product.
But if you sell services, the output is flavored by how you show up, what you see, how you run the room. Your perspective is the deliverable. That means you’re a personal brand, whether you’ve named it or not.

The question isn’t if you have a personal brand.

It’s whether you’ll help define it, or let the market do it for you.

No big following? Still a personal brand.

Don’t want a following? Still a personal brand.

Here’s how I think about it.

The brand is the fire. It’s what brings people around to warm up and stick around, and you light it the moment you start your business. A big following can pour gas on that fire — make it bigger, pull more people close. But the fire itself is already lit.

Your personal brand is how you tend it — making the ring around the fire cozy, the conversation interesting enough that the right people pull up a chair and come back. When they do, more people notice. More attention means more gas. The fire grows.

But the fire — the fire is yours.
This is for you if…
  • You’re a coach, consultant, or expert who’s been at this a few years
  • You’re curious about building your personal brand
  • You want a map, not another diagnosis of what’s broken
  • You’re not trying to become an influencer, but you know your marketing sounds like everyone else in your field
  • You’re tired of “content pillars” and “just be more consistent” — you want real strategy for the real work
And if you’re outside coaching but this feels like it’s about you — it probably is. Reach out and we can see if I can help.
How to build a personal brand
Brand Foundation → Customer → Messaging → Story → Content → Visibility → Growth
Everything starts at the foundation and works outward.
When the foundation is clear, the rest gets easier to build.
Content stops feeling generic and starts sounding like a real person wrote it.
Offers start to sound like they belong to you. And visibility stops feeling like performance — it starts feeling like expression.
Most start personal branding at the end. We start at the root.
But wait — what about…”

Do you have to be on social media?

Not as the main focus, but you have to be findable somewhere. One channel done well always beats five done half — some people run their whole brand on LinkedIn, some on a newsletter, some on their site plus word of mouth. The right personal brand runs on the platforms that fit the human, not the ones the last hype cycle told you to master.
What do you share, and what do you keep private?

Your call — always. My job is to help you find the line that feels honest to you, not push you across it. Some clients share the whole arc of a divorce and some don’t mention their spouse — both build strong personal brands. The wrong version is the one that costs you sleep for content nobody asked for.

Where do you start?
Not with a rebrand or a new logo or a website overhaul you’ll hate in six months. You start by uncovering what’s already true — what people come to you for, what you’ve been repeating in every discovery call, what makes you different. Everything else builds from there.

Wedding Photography → Brand Photography → Brand Strategy.

Every step of my journey has been about the same thing — helping people feel seen, understood, and chosen. I’ve been doing personal branding for two decades, I just called it other things along the way.
Wedding photography taught me how to see people in the moments they let their guard down.

Brand photography taught me how to translate that into the story small businesses needed to share online.

Brand strategy and messaging strategy taught me how to translate all of it into helping others discovery how to showcase themselves in a way that makes people sit down by the fire and learn more.

You are a personal brand, and I get to help you discover it within yourself.
