Aurora and Ryan were married at Hotel Deca in the U District on 10-10-10. It was a great day in Seattle. A bit overcast, but the rain that pounded the city the day before stayed at bay for some beautiful pictures outside around the U District.
Aurora and Ryan planned a beautiful and intimate affair for their family, where the majority of their guests traveled from across the country to see their union. Hotel Deca was a beautiful backdrop to their 30’s themed wedding. Aurora chose the most beautiful accessories to go with her dress and her grandmothers beaded dress.
I always have fun with my couples during the first site. I tell the groom that he is not allowed to turn around until their bride touches their shoulder, or tells them to turn around. Then I tell the bride that they can take as long as they want and torture their boy a bit. Because you know the groom is just twitching, waiting to see their lady dressed to the nines. It makes for so much fun as the anticipation at this moment is always so high! Aurora chose to take full advantage of this moment!
Aurora looked so elegant in her birdcage veil, and holding her grandma’s beaded purse.
Ryan spent the months leading up to the wedding making his own home brew for the big day. They said their apartment was FULL of beer, but it went fast at the wedding. Along with great labels showing off their adorable animals.
They had two favors for the two halves of the country that was represented. Some Vermont Fancy maple syrup for the east coasters and chocolate covered espresso beans for us west coasters. It was the perfect mix for the perfect mix of people in the wedding.
and I love this last shot…
