John and Alanna were favorite clients of mine from last year, they are down to earth, straight forward people who deeply deeply care for each other. John with his dry humor and Alanna with her relaxed and happy demeanor, they compliment each other in all the best ways. When they hired me last spring for their September wedding at the beautiful Ray’s Boathouse, one of the first things they told me is that they are uncomfortable in front of the camera, and I would need to work with that. I hear that a lot from clients, and wanted to make sure they knew that all they had to do was laugh and joke with each other and I would take care of the rest. John is really good at making Alanna laugh, so that was not hard for them at all!
They got ready at the Pan Pacific hotel where we did their first site, and I still remember vividly the awe and amazement in John’s eye when he saw Alanna for the first time. It was priceless. They had an intimate wedding at Ray’s Boathouse, chosen, not just because of the view, but mainly because of the outstanding food. They are foodies, these two, and Ray’s is the ideal location for such a couple. We roamed around the Pan Pacific then hit up a very very busy Golden Gardens for some photos (where an old guy gave them a $20 wedding tip just because!) and finally ended up at Ray’s for a beautiful sunset ceremony.
Their day was perfect for them, it was stress free and full of laughter. Surrounded by their closest loved ones, with good music and amazing food, they started the day as a couple in love and ended as a happily married pair. My best to you John and Alanna and for many years of laughter to come 🙂 — Becca
