Matt and Allison’s Salish Lodge Wedding was just as laid back, fun and quirky as they are. From Matt’s yellow bowtie and flipflops in his tux, to Allison’s beautiful tea length dress and a hint of purple to her hair, they were looking great and 100% them.
Even though it was Labor Day weekend, the weather was a bit questionable at the beginning of the day (thanks Washington for keeping us on our toes), but it held off and didn’t start pouring till after we were all inside for the reception.
We roamed around Salish Lodge goofing off and taking photos of these two who were totally into having a good time and enjoying the day, which shows in the photos. We took advantage of some of the fun clouds and also made sure to get a photo of them in front of their blow up tube man who they bring to every party they have (and then his motor died moments after the photo).
The rain held off for their ceremony which was short and sweet ended with a powerful breaking of the cup in Jewish tradition. And yes, he stepped on the cup in his flip flops and didn’t even get cut. A win win 🙂
We headed back inside as the sprinkles started and they shortly turned into a full on rain storm which didn’t slow this crowd. Some of my favorite moments of the day is when the groomsmen embarressed Matt during toasts sharing the voicemail Matt had sent him saying that Allison and he had broken up. Then when his friend (the groomsmen) called back to say “What the hell? Why did you break up with such a perfect girl for you?” Matt confessed that it was a joke and they were actually getting married .Props to the groomsmen who kept that message for 1+ years just to play it during toasts. Well played 🙂
Matt, Allison and I even ran out after the sun went down to take a couple photos in the rain which this series ends with. A favorite ending of the day!
