Vintage VW, lush greenery, makeshift hot tub in the backyard and two people deeply in love. Where could you go wrong during this outdoor engagement session?
I photographed my cousin Gaby and her fiance Joe’s outdoor engagement session at their beautiful little home in Bothell just days before they uprooted to move across to Iowa for school and a new adventure. We wanted to capture them here in Seattle in the first place they called home together. Both Gaby and Joe are avid nature lovers, with him a horticulture manager and she getting her doctorate in Sustainable Agriculture and Rural Sociology, they find peace in nature and growing things, and found that their home was a better option than any I could imagine to photograph them in. Their house is more about their yard than anything else. These two love nature and growing things more than any couple I’ve ever met. Even with their garden uprooted and given away because of the move, their yard was prettier than most anyone elses! Their house was filled with boxes, their dog and cat looking around confused at the change, but even with the change in the air, the hustle and bustle of the move… and a photo shoot thrown in the middle….Gaby and Joe were just as connected and present as ever.
They are now safely moved to Iowa, started school and begun a new job. I can’t wait for their Farm Kitchen wedding next July!
