Mackenzie and Will’s Hall at Fauntleroy wedding was an elegant fall wedding.
The day was just chilly enough that we were happy to be indoor for the ceremony and the reception (it was November after all!) but it was just warm enough that we could play outside for a little while creating beautiful portraits outside of the Hall at Fauntleroy.
We started out at the Hotel 1000 with the girls beautifying, and the guys goofing off. It was super blustery downtown which kept us from being able to have their first site outdoors, and the hotel was hosting a conference which made much of the open locations of the hotel bustling with people. Challenges like this are always fun because it makes you push your boundaries of what you see to find a place most just pass on by, but could be great for portraits in a pinch.
We ended up having Will stand outside of Mackenzie’s Hotel 1000 suite waiting on his beautiful bride, and the images ended up beautiful. It’s amazing how location matters little when you have an emotion packed moment like the first site.
We roamed Hotel 1000, taking advantage of their beautiful window light for Mackenzie and Will’s portraits, then gathered their wedding party and hopped on a Butler Valet Bus to go to their Hall at Fauntleroy Wedding.
The decor was elegant and beautiful with a subtle and tasteful black white and red theme which was perfect for the warmth and feel of the venue.
I was extremely excited to have photographed their wedding for a couple of reasons. First, because I had been photographing these two for a couple years. I photographed their baby girl, Maiya two years earlier for her newborn photos and was so happy when they had contacted me again to photograph their wedding. And to add to it, these two were smart and waited till Get Hitched Give Hope when they knew I’d be donating a full wedding package at the event (which is the most amazing bridal charity event in Seattle every year. If you don’t know of it, come and check it out!). They bid on my services, and all the money went to granting wishes for terminally ill folks through the Dream Foundation, and I knew they were givers at heart.
I was joined by the amazing Holly from Perfectly Posh Events who is also a major volunteer and runner of Get Hitched Give Hope to help put their wedding together, and I don’t think it could have gone any better than it did.
