Seattle has some absolutely amazing parks. And one of my all time favorites is Discovery Park in Magnolia.
I love Discovery Park engagement photos because there are so many different options, and no shoot looks the same.
Discovery park may hold dear to my heart as I lived 2 blocks from the park in high school, so I spent many a night sneaking through the park being a teenager, out way past curfew and drinking whatever cheap beer my friends and I could get ahold of (shh it’s a secret).
The sand dunes and the views, the grassy fields and the epic trees. The amazing quality of the light in those minutes before the sun goes behind the mountains in the distance, there really is no place quite like it.
So Katie and Justin and I met last month in the hours before sunset to roam the park, get to know each other and find ways to laugh in the sunlight. I knew Katie a decade ago when we both were in photo school, and couldn’t have been more excited when she reached out to have me capture her wedding. Justin and Katie felt right at home in the vast beauty of Discovery park as they call Port Orchard home, which has the same quiet beauty of the park. I’m very much looking forward to their May 2016 wedding!
