It’s funny where you meet the person you fall in love with. Some people work so hard looking all over the place, and others end up finding coworkers that end up friends and just happen to end up falling in love through their friendship. That’s how the story goes for Jake and Natascha. They met working in the restaurant industry together and became friends. Jake was there for Natascha as she dealt with a pretty big breakup, and their friendship grew more and more until one day it was way more than just friends.
I’ve known Jake since high school. While we kept in touch loosely through the magic of Facebook, we hadn’t actually connected in years until he called asking about wedding photography. We met in my studio, and I could tell instantly why Jake fell for Natascha. Jake is an extremely charismatic individual. Always has a great story and is a lot of fun to be around, so to find a gal that was just as sweet and charismatic herself, while loving his joking side and being able to hold her own, Natascha was perfect for him.
For their engagement photos, we met up in Ballard. Down the street from where they live and coincidentally where Jake and I went to high school (woot Ballard). We walked up and down old Ballard ave where the bars and the stories are. We joked and they were comfortable and confidant in front of the camera. After roaming Ballard for a while, we ended up at happy hour in the same bar they spend their relaxing time at : Bastille. And what kind of engagement session would it be if we didn’t end in some Seahawks jerseys 🙂
